A new Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut trailer introduces the Iki Island expansion

The latest trailer released by Sony for Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut focuses on its story expansion, Iki Island. The expansion sees protagonist Jin travelling to Iki Island to defeat a Mongol tribe led by a shaman named ‘the Eagle’. “As both a khatun and a shaman, she is not only a conqueror of nations, but a shepherd of souls, and the danger she presents to Jin and his people is unlike any they have faced”, wrote Patrick Downs, senior writer at Sucker Punch Productions, on the PlayStation Blog.

He added: “Our semi-fictional version of Iki Island provides a stark contrast to Tsushima. It is a wild, lawless land of raiders and criminals, scarred by memories of war, and fiercely independent; the samurai have not been in control there for decades. Skilled though he is, Jin can’t take on the Mongols alone. He will have to work with—or around—a coterie of unsavory characters to take the fight to the Eagle.” We’d love to remind that Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will be released for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on August 20. As confirmed, save data can be transferred between the PS4 and PS5 versions of Ghost of Tsushima. Moreover, existing Ghost of Tsushima owners can upgrade to Director’s Cut on both PS4 and PS5.
