Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night 2 is in development

Updated: May 29

It's been a bumper week for leaks via internal powerpoints. Following from Sony's leak of Uncharted 4 coming to PC a few days ago, it seems we can expect a follow-up to acclaimed Metroidvania (with a heavy emphasis on the -Vania) Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night according to a publisher's presentation.

In news broken by Twitter user Nibellion, Digital Bros, the Italian parent company of publisher 505 Games, has released a presentation of how its company is doing, and where it is going. Alongside a lot of very dry business statistics and graphs the slide on Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night lists both its high Metacritic score, its impressive one million copies sales figures and, most importantly, in pretty clear and bold text that there is a SECOND VERSION IN DEVELOPMENT.

Well, you can't get much clearer than that. Even if we were to take this with a pinch of salt and say it perhaps refers to a re-release, other slides explicitly call re-releases and ports 'next-gen versions', so this definitely seems to suggest a sequel. Likely we'll hear more in the coming weeks as announcement season ramps up.
