GWENT World Champion is crowned!
GWENT, the mini card game turned full game originally found in CD PROJECT RED’s Witcher 3, has just crowned its first world champion.
The game, which is described as having “fast-paced duels that combine bluffing, on-the-fly decision making and careful deck construction” is played by a best of three round format where players use spells, units, and “tricks” to win.
Benjamin ‘Kolemoen’ Pfannstiel from Germany has earnt himself the title of the best GWENT player and walked away with $119,000 in prize money. The runner up, Frederick ‘Freddybabes’ Bird from the United Kingdom, walks away with $53,000.
The semi-finalists and quarterfinalists included:

Adrian ‘Lifecoach’ Koy (Germany) — $16,250
Serghei ‘Magpie131’ Sorochin (Moldova) — $11,000
Raffael ‘GameKingAT’ Iciren (Austria) — $8,750
Damian ‘TailBot’ Kaźmierczak (Poland) — $8,750
Daniel ‘Damorquis’ Morkisch (Germany) — $5,000
