Isonzo takes the WWI first person shooter series to the Italian Alps

The latest game in the WWI series, Isonzo has been announced by M2H and Blackmill Games.

The game is a follow up to previous titles in the series, Tannenberg and Verdun and takes players to the Italian Alps inspired by the 2 year real-world battle for the Isonzo river during the first world war. Isonzo will see players deploy to new WW1 battlefields which are beautiful but deadly in equal measure. The fighting takes place among the scenic peaks, rugged valleys and idyllic towns of northern Italy and keeps the same premise of the previous games being a tactical squad-based FPS, with authentic WW1 uniforms, weapons, maps and more.

“The Italian Front was the perfect opportunity for us to elevate the WW1 Game Series, both figuratively and literally! Alpine warfare in Isonzo brings lots of fresh game mechanics to the series, along with the all new Italian army, facing off against Austria-Hungary. We can’t wait to share more of what we’ve been working on – there are many exciting reveals on the way!” Developer and M2H co-founder Matt Hergaarden says.

Isonzo is currently in development for Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. You can watch the reveal trailer below via Playstation.
