PSVR 2 specs revealed?
We know that Sony’s next-generation VR headset for PlayStation 5 will be released after 2021. For the occasion Sony revealed the controllers that’ll come with the new headset.
We don’t know the name of the VR set yet, but several rumors confirm a resolution of 4000×2040 pixels (2000×2040 per eye). As a reminder, the current resolution for PSVR is 960×1080 pixels per eye, while the Oculus Quest has a 1832×1920 pixels per eye.
In addition, we can expect a lens separation adjustment dial, gaze tracking capable of foveated rendering and a motor in the headset that can be used by developers to give direct haptic feedback.
In terms of cables, the new PSVR headset will still have to be connected to the PS5 by an USB-C cable. However, it won’t need an external camera since the cameras will be integrated into the headset allowing an autonomous detection.
