SEGA financial report examines which IPs are fit for reboot/remaster/remakes

Updated: May 14

What is the future of SEGA’s IPs? Apparently, the Japanese corporation has plans for them, even for the most dormant franchises.

In its last financial report, SEGA put a slide listing its active and dormant IPs and what it expects to do with them. Indeed, we can see that the company’s plan regarding its games evolves on three pillars: Remaster, Remake and Reboot. Thus, we could expect dormant titles such as House of Dead, Street of Rage or Shinobi to make a comeback. It also mentions the creation of a new FPS title called “Super Game” for the year 2026.

This approach is not new for SEGA, we can take the example of the remakes and remasters of Yakuza that are already out.

What do you think about this announcement? Which game would you like to see coming back?
