Server issues make Final Fantasy XIV "sell-out" of digital copies

Final Fantasy XIV continues to be wildly popular. Case in point: The game has had such an upswing in popularity that it sold out on the Square Enix Storefront. Despite simply generating and distributing codes, with no physical stock to run out of, the servers have buckled under pressure and left players unable to buy the game or create new characters.

As shared by YouTuber SkillUp, every server is currently congested and players are being greeted by messages telling them the game is full. Much like the over-subscribed and impossible to use Outriders experience earlier this month, Square Enix seems to have once again underestimated the server capacity needed for its online games.
