Solid Snake's voice actor hints at remake return rumours
In an interview with Dan Allen Gaming, the voice actor for Metal Gear Solid's Solid Snake (and, fun fact, screenwriter of the 2000 X-Men movie) David Hayter hinted that a remake of Konami's tactical stealth action classic may be in development.
Hayter, asked about the prospect of voicing the character again in a remake, stated that he "had some confirmation that it might not be a rumour" from industry insiders. This, coupled with Konami renewing its old trademarks recently, has fans speculating that the publisher might be developing new versions of the classic series.
Of course, this is all just speculation at this point. Konami hasn't released a major game since its poorly received Contra: Rogue Corps in 2019 and the company haven't made any public moves to suggest it intends to. With Metal Gear's Hideo Kojima now moved on to other projects outside of Konami though, there's nothing to stop the publisher from using the IP it owns to make some money from devoted fans. Time will tell if there is any truth to these rumours, or if the idea of a Metal Gear Solid remake is just wishful thinking.
