Switch Pro's release date: Nintendo keeps avoiding the question

When it comes to upcoming projects from Nintendo, the Nintendo Switch Pro is definitely one of the most awaited. Despite the fact that the Japanese firm is regularly questioned about its next console, it remained quite mysterious so far.

According to VGC, it is during a recent shareholder Q&A that Shuntaro Furukawa, Nintendo's President, was asked about the upcoming release of the Switch Pro. The latter did not make any announcement but said that they are working on new hardwares.

"The Company will continue to focus on creating unique games, and in order to achieve this, we will continue to propose games using a dedicated game console with integrated hardware and software, [...] We are constantly developing hardware, software, and dedicated peripherals, but we will refrain from commenting on specific products under development."

So when the console will be announced? According to Bloomberg, the Switch Pro should start replacing the current flagship around September / October 2021, for a retail price of $299. The new machine should include a 7-inch Samsung OLED screen (6.2-inch and 5.5-inch LCD screens of the current standard model and the Switch Lite respectively). As well as a resolution of 720p, which could offer 4K graphics when connected to a compatible TV screen.
